Barcoo.de and woabi.de are two german services, which enable customers to scan barcodes with the mobile phones. Since november 2009 both services belong to the checkitmobile GmbH, Berlin. Barcoo supports several mobile devices and is now available for the iPhone

• Download barcoo in the Apple app store
• Capture the barcode shown on the product with the camera
• Send the barcode along with the geo coordinates of the mobile phone
• As a result: list of onlineshops with prices
• Partially nearest stores in Google Maps will be shown, e.g. Schlecker and Conrad
• Existing eco and product reviews are shown as well, if available

The application makes transparency of  consumer markets. The Internet as research base for product information is becoming more and more relevant. So far, they have partnered up with Ebay and testberichte.de and finance Barcoo and woabi by showing display ads.
